Living in North Texas in December really does feel like a reward for surviving the long summer. The weather is perfect, the coats are optional, and the whole season feels a little lighter.
Since we’re officially in holiday mode, we wanted to share a few of our favorite traditions around DFW, whether you’re local or hosting friends and family.
1. Shop the holiday markets at the Star & Bishop Arts. If you still need to wrap up your gift list, the markets at The Star in Frisco and Bishop Arts in Dallas make it easy. Local makers, unique finds, and tons of small businesses to support, all in one visit.
2. Ice skating at the Galleria. The rink at the Galleria is a classic for a reason. Between the giant Christmas tree, Santa photos, Build-A-Bear, and all the kid-friendly activities, it’s such a fun family stop.
3. Experience Gaylord ICE for a true “winter” day. If you want chilly weather on purpose, Gaylord ICE delivers. It’s a great way to feel festive without hopping on a plane to colder climates.
4. Book an igloo at the Adolphus. For something a little more grown-up, the rooftop igloos at The Adolphus are beautiful. You can sip a cocktail, enjoy the view, or book their holiday tea for a memorable outing.
5. Holiday brunch at Neiman Marcus downtown. If you want something classic and elegant, the Neiman Marcus holiday brunch never disappoints. It’s a great way to slow down and enjoy the season.
6. Take a carriage ride through Highland Park lights. We’ll put money on this being one of the best holiday experiences in DFW. Reserve a carriage, grab a hot cocoa, and enjoy the light displays in Highland Park; it’s stunning every year.
A special holiday message for you. Before we wrap up the year, we want to say how grateful we are for you. This year was busy, unpredictable, and full of surprises in the real estate world, and your support is what keeps us going. Your trust, your questions, your referrals mean the world to us.
As we head into the holidays, we hope you’re surrounded by people you love, getting some well-earned rest, and gearing up for a bright and exciting 2026. We’re stepping into the new year with optimism, and we’re excited to keep helping you however we can.
And as always, if you want to chat about real estate, plan out next year’s goals, or just talk through your ideas, reach out to me at (214) 267-9222or SeychelleSells@vanpoole.com. We’re always here for you.
